This Privacy Notice explains how Foundry Partners LBG collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data in connection with the website at thefundfoundry.com (or its current domain) and the operation of The Fund Foundry. It is published in accordance with the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 (the "DP Law").
1. Controller
Foundry Partners LBG is the data controller for personal data collected through the website and the application process.
Contact for data protection enquiries: hello@guernsey-foundry.com
2. What we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
-
Information you provide through the expression of interest form: first name, last name, email address, fund strategy, route (international, relocating, or Guernsey-based), target first close, and any optional impact alignment.
-
Information you provide in subsequent communications: CVs, biographies, fund decks, references, and any other materials submitted in support of your application.
-
Limited technical information that is necessary for the website to operate: server log entries (IP address, user agent, time of request) generated when you visit the site.
3. Purposes and lawful basis
We process personal data for the following purposes:
-
Application assessment — to evaluate whether you are a suitable candidate for the programme. Lawful basis: your consent (when you submit the form) and our legitimate interests in operating a selective application process.
-
Communications — to respond to enquiries, request further information, and update you about the status of your application. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and, where applicable, consent.
-
Programme administration — to record the application history of cohorts, manage cohort logistics, and maintain internal records of decisions taken. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
-
Legal and regulatory compliance — to comply with applicable Guernsey law, including the Companies (Guernsey) Law, 2008, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist financing legislation, and tax reporting obligations. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
4. Sources of personal data
Most personal data we process is provided directly by you. Where we receive personal data from third parties (for example, references provided by mentors or business partners) we will inform you where reasonably practicable.
5. Recipients and sharing
Personal data is reviewed by the programme team and selection panel. We share personal data only as follows:
-
With service providers acting under written processing instructions: email infrastructure, document storage, and customer relationship tools.
-
With professional advisers (legal, accountancy, audit) where strictly necessary.
-
Where required to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data, and we do not use it for marketing purposes outside the application context.
6. International transfers
Where any service provider processes personal data outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey, we ensure that the transfer is to a jurisdiction that the Office of the Data Protection Authority (the "ODPA") considers to provide an adequate level of protection, or that appropriate safeguards (including contractual safeguards) are in place. A list of current service providers and their locations is available on request from the contact above.
7. Retention
We retain personal data for the following periods, unless a longer period is required by law:
-
Application data: for the duration of the cohort window in which the application was received, plus 24 months thereafter.
-
Cohort participant data: for the duration of programme participation, plus seven years thereafter, to comply with statutory record-keeping requirements.
-
Website server logs: 30 days, after which logs are deleted or anonymised.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner where retention is no longer required.
8. Your rights
Under the DP Law you have the following rights, exercisable at any time:
-
Access — to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information about how it is processed.
-
Rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
-
Erasure — to have your data deleted in certain circumstances, including where it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.
-
Restriction — to limit how we process your data while a query is being resolved.
-
Objection — to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, or to direct marketing.
-
Portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and to have it transmitted to another controller, where this is technically feasible.
-
Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on your consent, to withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@thefundfoundry.com. We will respond within the period required by the DP Law.
9. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects on applicants. Selection decisions are made by the programme team and selection panel.

11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction, or damage. These include access controls, encryption in transit, and contractual obligations on processors.
